Recirculating ball linear bearings (LM series) are the default choice for smooth shaft-guided motion, but they fail in three scenarios: (1) dirty environments where dust enters the ball circuit and jams recirculation, (2) shock-loaded axes where point-contact balls brinell the raceway, and (3) low-speed or oscillating motion where balls skid instead of rolling, causing flat spots. The SC Series plain (sleeve) bearing solves all three by replacing the ball circuit with a solid PTFE-impregnated bronze bushing that slides on the shaft. The result is a contamination-tolerant, shock-resistant bearing with 0.08–0.12 friction coefficient — higher than ball types, but adequate for slow axes and vastly more durable in harsh environments.

Lavorazione di precisione
I centri di rettifica CNC mantengono la geometria della pista delle sfere entro ±0,003 mm. La tempra a induzione interessa le zone di contatto a HRC 58–62 senza rendere fragile l'intero corpo.
