SFU Series — Rolled Ball Screw

The SFU1605 is a 16 mm diameter, 5 mm lead rolled ball screw assembly built from GCr15 chrome steel with an induction-hardened ball track (HRC 58-62). At C7 precision grade per ISO 3408, lead accuracy is ±0.05 mm per 300 mm — within tolerance for desktop CNC routers, diode laser engravers, and FDM 3D printer Z/X axes where sub-0.1 mm repeatability is the practical requirement. The assembly ships complete: end-machined shaft plus a single pre-loaded flange nut, ready to mount with standard BK12/BF12 bearing blocks and SFU1605 nut housings.

Key Features

Complete Assembly

Shaft arrives with both ends machined and a pre-loaded flange nut fitted. No secondary turning needed for standard BK/BF block configurations.

Ready to Install

Low Running Noise

Recirculating ball circuit geometry keeps bench-measured noise typically below 55 dB at 600 RPM — relevant for open-frame engravers and lab equipment.

Low Noise

Market-Compatible Nut

Four-hole M4 flange pattern matches SFU1605 nut housings from most linear motion suppliers, so it drops into existing machine designs without redesign.

Metric Series

Typical Applications

Desktop CNC routers (X/Y axis, up to ~5 kg carriage), CO2 and diode laser engravers, FDM and resin 3D printer Z-axis, light pick-and-place gantries, and DIY automation fixtures. For axes requiring positioning under ±0.01 mm or sustained loads above 15 kN, the SFE Series ground variant is a better fit.

FAQ

What is the MOQ and what lead time should I expect?

MOQ is 50 pieces per SKU (length + diameter combination). Standard lengths 300–1000 mm typically ship within 7-15 business days. Custom lengths with special end machining: 15-25 business days. Exact lead times confirmed at order.

Can I order custom lengths or non-standard end machining?

Yes. Shaft length up to 1500 mm (longer on request), and end machining can be adjusted to customer drawing — journal diameter, keyway, thread. Please share your 2D drawing or DXF when inquiring.

How does the C7 rolled screw differ from the C5 ground version?

Rolling forms the ball track without material removal, giving ±0.05 mm/300 mm accuracy. C5 grinding removes material to achieve ±0.008 mm/300 mm — roughly 6× tighter. For 3D printers and engravers C7 is cost-efficient; for semiconductor or medical motion stages the SFE ground series is the right choice.
